Freedom Fest 2019

July 17, 2019 @ 8:00 am - July 20, 2019 @ 10:00 pm

Most club members know Mark Skousen !

Recognized as one of the ‘top living economists on the planet’

His core economic values align well with our own and he has spoken at many of our meetings over the years. A close relationship has developed as a result.

Mark’s annual FreedomFest (this year – July 17 – 20,2019) is renown as a place for ‘people who are concerned about liberty, personal freedom, civil rights, free market principles and economic freedom, to meet and discuss important issues of the day’.

We are proud to, not only support FreedomFest, but also to participate at this year’s event in a significant way. In his promotion Mark has outlined the club under ‘Better than Stocks and Real Estate’. Please see the promo (below) for further details regarding FreedomFest as well as the club’s participation.

Fin Pub Marketing,

Have you ever seen the old Western TV show, “Have Gun, Will Travel,” starring Richard Boone?  It’s one of Doug Casey’s favorite Western TV shows. Mine too.

Well, the modern-day version should be “Have Money, Will Travel” – to Vegas!

Here’s your chance to make….

A fistful of dollars at the “Wild West” of FreedomFest, taught by financial sharp-shooter Mark Skousen and other financial deputies. Our posse includes:

Kevin O’Leary, John Mackey, Hilary Kramer, Alex Green, Steve Forbes, Jim Woods, Doug Casey, Adrian Day, Van Simmons, Joel Stern…and many others.

Our theme at this year’s FreedomFest is “The Wild West,” and our big show is creating a lot of buzz.   We’re already approaching 1,000 attendees, and we expect a record crowd this year.

A major part of our big show is our 3-day financial seminar featuring some incredible sharp shooters – not shooting guns, but targeting outstanding investments to help you make money

At this year’s FreedomFest, it’s money, not guns, that talks.  Here’s what you can expect:

“The Wild West of Wall Street”

Volatility, uncertainty and chaos are all too common in today’s financial markets under the Trump era. You can make a killing, or be killed.

That’s why I’ve put together a three-day financial conference at FreedomFest called “The Wild West on Wall Street,” and I’ve deputized a whole posse of financial gun-slingers to arm yourself with the protection you need during these dangerous times.  Leading the posse will be none other than Kevin O’Leary of Shark Tank fame, who regularly offers sound financial advice on CNBC.

Kevin “The Shark” O’Leary

Our celebrity speaker, Kevin “Mr. Wonderful” O’Leary, is a real maverick in the business and TV world. His keynote speech on Thursday, July 18, is entitled “The Cold Hard Truth about Business and Investing,” followed by a special private luncheon on “The Inside Story of Shark Tank and the Wild West of Capitalism” where you will get to meet Mr. O’Leary and receive an autographed copy of his book (ticket required).

“Conscious Capitalism vs Pure Greed”:
The Ultimate Showdown

On Thursday, we also have the ultimate “Libertarian Duel in the Vegas Sun — a one-on-one debate between Kevin O’Leary and John Mackey, CEO of Whole Foods Market and author of “Conscious Capitalism.” Mackey argues that business has a higher purpose besides making money — he calls it “the true, the beautiful and the heroic.” By contrast, O’Leary argues that “business has only one purpose, to make money. If you want a friend, buy a dog!” I will be moderating this fiery fight that you won’t want to miss.

Big news!

Geo-political commentator and firebrand Glenn Beck will be joining us at this year’s big show, July 17-20, Paris Resort, Las Vegas.  He will be interviewing Penn Jillette of Penn & Teller fame, and speaking on “What the Media Doesn’t Get.”  All part of our “Wild West” theme

A First:  The Fastest Gun on Main Street Comes to FreedomFest!

I’m trilled to announce that Vince Foster, founder and chairman of Main Street Capital, has agreed to appear at this year’s FreedomFest. (Yes, Vince Foster jokes that he has the same name as the famous Washington attorney who worked for Hillary Clinton and was found dead under mysterious circumstances in 1993.)

For years I’ve invited Mr. Foster to speak at FreedomFest, and finally he said yes.  He says he now has the time as chairman to come.  Henever speaks at other investment conferences – but he is going to address our investors at FreedomFest, and reveal his secret formula for finding gems in private equity.

The Gain in MAIN is incredibly Insane!

I call him “The Houston Kid.” As long-term subscribers know, my favorite private equity stock is Main Street Capital, the Houston-based business development company run by Vince Foster. They finance private firms before the firms are acquired or go public.

MAIN is my largest investment in my IRA portfolio.  Why?  Because of its proven track record, and its rising monthly dividend (plus two special dividends a year).   It has increased in value every year I’ve recommended the stock (average annual return is 20% or more)

Since going public in October, 2007, MAIN’s total return, including dividends, has been nothing short of spectacular, even taking into account the 2008-09 bear market.

If you had invested $10,000 in the S&P 500 Index Fund (SPY) at that time, and reinvested all dividends, you would have $24,000 today – not bad.

Or $10,000 invested in Warren Buffett’s Berkshire-Hathaway (BRK-A) would be worth even more, $25,000.  (BRK-A does not pay dividends.)

But MAIN’s total return, including dividends, has turned $10,000 into $71,000 today
It is the best performing private equity fund in the United States, outperforming such big names as Blackstone, Carlyle Group, KKR, or Apollo.  My long-time subscribers know this, because they’ve taken advantage of it.

In other words, MAIN has beaten the stock indexes, the best private equity firms, and even Warren Buffett.

Since I started recommending MAIN nearly seven years ago, the capital gains, rising dividends and special dividends have been so spectacular that I have not received a single letter of complaint from any of my subscribers, and that’s saying something.

Are the good times behind us?  Not by a long shot.

Private Reception with Subscribers Only!
Chairman Vince Foster will address attendees on Thursday, July 18, followed by a private reception with my subscribers only!   Here you can personally thank Mr. Foster for his financial expertise, take a picture with him, and pick his brain.

Plus:  MAIN has also agreed to be an exhibitor in our exhibit hall to answer any questions you may have about MAIN.

Other financial deputies include:

  • Money manager Adrian Day on “What Every Investor Needs to Know about the Gold Rushes of the Wild West:  From California to South Africa,” including lessons about the high risks of gold fever, and the booms and the busts of the mining business.

  • Van Simmons on “Paintings, Statues, Rare Coins, and Collectibles of the Old West.”    A great source of profit and pleasure—from the man who has made money in all of the best collectibles.

  • Doug Casey, “Have Golden Gun, Will Travel:  My Speculative Adventures in Geo-Politics, Gold, and Money” and “How to Invest in Penny Stocks Without Getting Killed.”  Doug has more experience than anyone I know when it comes to making money in this treacherous market.

  • Panel of Jim Woods, Hilary Kramer, and myself, moderated by Eagle’s publisher Roger Michalski, on the topic “The Top 10 Stocks to Buy Now.”

  • Alex Green, Chief Investment Strategist at the Oxford Club, on “The Plungers and the Peacocks:  What Really Works on Wall Street, and What the Gold Bugs are Missing.”

  • New!  As part of our “Wild West of Wall Street” financial seminar, I am pleased to announce that author Alan Pell Crawford will join us to speak on his new book, “How Not to Get Rich:  The Financial Misadventures of Mark Twain.”  Here are some vital lessons for all of us to learn to protect our hard-earned wealth from “too good to be true” financial schemes.

Better than Stocks and Real Estate!

For those who are discouraged by the gyrations of the stock market, or the illiquidity and risks of real estate, there is an alternative that can pay off big: Investing in successful individual businesses. I’ve recently invested in three business deals that are paying me over $3,100 a month on a total investment of $200,000.  That’s $37,000—over 18% a year. Who can offer that kind of steady income from stocks and real estate?

How did I do it?  I’m a member of the exclusive Investment Club of America, which makes these deals available to a limited number of accredited investors. The directors have developed a unique strategy to discover real performers in business (not stocks or real estate) with minimal risk.

In the past five years, they have funded 11 deals worth $21 million dollars, and all 11 have either met or exceeded expectations. Eight are still ongoing Club investments generating monthly cash payments between 8-27% APR for investors.

The Investment Club of America will be hosting a meeting at FreedomFest and giving you all the details. It’s open to all attendees—but only at FreedomFest.

Investing for Two:  How My Wife and I Successfully Manage Our Finances

Early this year my wife, Jo Ann, and I had a session at the Orlando Money Show on “Partnership Investing:  How to Work Together in Personal Finance, Investing and Estate Planning” that proved so popular that we are doing it again at a Saturday morning breakfast at FreedomFest (ticket required).  See you there!

In addition, we have estate and tax planning experts David T. Phillips and Rick Durfee giving sessions on creating a tax-free estate plan for you and your heirs.  I’ve used them myself.  They’re great.

What Others Are Saying

Here’s a testimonial from Rick Sampleysenior VP, Raymond James:

“I had the privilege of attending FreedomFest in Las Vegas this year for the first time. I came as a member of Martin Truax and Ron Miller’s team in Atlanta. During my 40 years as a wealth manager, I have been around great and influential people. Ross Perot hired me personally to become a stockbroker in 1973 at duPont Glore Forgan. I have had a private lunch as a guest of John Templeton at his home in the Bahamas in the 80s, and a private lunch with the Chief Investment Officer of the State of New York State Employee Pension Fund.

“During my entire career, however, I have never before been to one venue that allowed me access to and interaction with such a concentration of great thinkers and financial professionals. If one values capitalism and practical approaches to navigating the daily challenges of investing in these treacherous times, then FreedomFest is a must. This is truly a conference for great investment thinkers and doers. A most impressive aspect of FreedomFest was simply how the day-to-day conference was managed: it ran like a Swiss watch. Unlimited kudos to your conference organizer. How did you manage to get all these great people in one place at one time and start and finish meetings right on time…. including all the wonderful breakout sessions? During the conference I met many people who have been coming to FreedomFest for years… I will certainly be one of them in the future.”
