Bio

Mr. Flynn authored the international best-seller Economics for Dummies, and co-authored the most commonly utilized economics textbook in colleges and universities around the world, Economics: Principles, Problems, and Policies. He has appeared as guest commentator on ABC News, Fox Business, and NPR.

Mr. Flynn is a frequent guest speaker at economics summits and conferences across the USA. He has garnered a lot of attention recently for his op-ed that posited the U.S. must emulate the healthcare system of Singapore. The country ranks top five globally in life expectancy, while Business Week named Singapore the most healthy country in the world. Singapore spends only 4.9% of its GDP on healthcare, while the U.S. spends 18% of its GDP and still has the highest infant mortality rate among all “wealthy” nations in the world.

Mr. Flynn announced his candidacy for California’s 31st Congressional District in May. He is also a former national champion in the Japanese martial art aikido.
